In collaboration with international think tanks, Iceland have successfully completed trials of a reduced hours working week, the largest of its kind in the world. The trials, in which workers were paid the same amount for shorter hours, took place between 2015 and 2019. Productivity remained the same or improved in the majority of workplaces, researchers said. Now it has been reported that around 85% of the country have the option of working reduced hours. But what does that mean for hospitals? Is it possible? Is it safe? What do the Doctors Don't Talk gang think? Would they like to see that implemented in the UK?
